The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce has named Ward Mullens as its new manager of communications and marketing. 

“We are excited that Ward is joining our team,” said Janelle Best, president of the Howell Chamber of Commerce. “He is a part of our community and brings extensive experience to the position.” 

“Howell is such a great place to live and work and I am excited to have the opportunity to share that message with others,” said Mullens, 55. “I have lived in Howell for more than 25 years and know first-hand what a great place it is.” 

Mullens has been involved in non-profit administration for more than 20 years. He was the assistant director of communications at Eastern Michigan University for 15 years and spent seven years (2012-2019) in communications and athletics at Cleary University. 

His community involvement includes; serving on the board of the Howell Area Junior Baseball Association; serving on the board of the Howell Area Junior Football Association; coaching for Howell Area Parks and Recreation; and working as a volunteer for the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest and The Legend of Sleepy Howell.
