T-Shirt Fundraiser to Benefit Livingston County Homeless Continuum of Care
November is National Homeless Awareness Month, and if you’re looking for a way to get involved, start here! Purchase a t-shirt before November 1, and all proceeds will help support Livingston County residents experiencing homelessness through the Homeless Continuum of Care’s partner agencies. All funds raised will be match by First National Bank up to $1,000!

National Homeless Awareness Month is a time to understand Home is Essential for everyone. Take time to understand the realities of homelessness in our community and find ways to donate or volunteer to support these programs. Home is a basic need for all and required for a healthy and stable community.
Orders will be accepted now through November 1, 2021. When you order the shirt, share your WHY you purchased the t-shirt and tag @homelessccc and #endhomelessnesslivco!
All orders will be shipped in time to participate in our community awareness day, Wednesday, November 17, 2021. We encourage you to participate by wearing your shirt. Snap a pic and share using the hashtag, #endhomelessnesslivco, on your social media platforms. Let’s spread the word – Home is Essential, and together we can resolve the housing crisis.
“The t-shirt fundraiser is not about raising funds, although it does help local agencies, it is about spreading awareness,” said Amy Johnston, the Community Collaborative Planner and a member of the Homeless Awareness Month Committee. “There are very dedicated agencies working hard to make sure those who need housing resources in Livingston County have the support they need. Please consider wearing this t-shirt to help educate our community about homelessness here in Livingston County.”
More Ways to Support Homeless Awareness Month:
• Join a Trivia Night Fundraiser, Dinner, and Silent Auction event hosted by the Severe Weather Network Homeless Shelter! Final day for tickets sales for this November 6th event is 10/20 – volunteers and auction donations welcome! Check out: livingstonswn.org for more information.
• Every winter break, The Education Project has a snack pack donation drive to help supplement the meals students would typically be provided at school. The donation drive will begin November 29th and run through December 10th. All items can be dropped off at Livingston Educational Service Agency located at 1425 W. Grand River in Howell. Snacks ideas: pudding, fruit cups, cracker snacks, snack size chips, pretzels, popcorn, granola bars, mini cereal boxes, oatmeal, ramen noodles, soup, fruit snacks, juice boxes, water, etc.
• Join Community Catalysts on November 10th from 6-830 pm to learn more about how they plan to bring quality affordable housing to Livingston County. Tickets are $100 per person. Dinner, drinks, and bocce are all included in your ticket fee. Register here!
• Educate yourself on the services available in our community – HCC YouTube Channel
• Volunteer or donate to local agencies like The Severe Weather Network, The Salvation Army, LACASA, Catholic Charities, The Connection Youth Services, Recovery Advocates in Livingston, OLHSA, Habitat for Humanity and Love, INC
• Support United Way Campaign – the funds raised here support local agencies working to address homelessness
